A book about a former firefighter named Luciano Tontini has been published in Italy. He is from the city of Emilia-Romagna called Cesena, who saves a girl (some say newborn) during the 1980 Irpinia earthquake (an earthquake that killed nearly 3,000 people near Naples). He became famous for saving her. On the night of the earthquake, he worked as a firefighter in Cesena. After the rescue, he suffered an appendicitis attack and underwent emergency surgery, so he couldn’t meet her parents afterwards, but now Luciano and the girl are friends.
You can read articles about him here (Italian).
