SPID (Sistema Pubblico di Identità Digitale: Public System of Digital Identity) is an online method of identification used in Italy. For example, one way to access the university’s Segreteria Virtuale (personal page) is to use the SPID. If you live in Italy or have a relationship with Italy, you will need to have it. There is new information you need to know about SPID.
From November 2021, a fee of 12 euros will be charged only if you open it at the post office (Poste Italiane). It’s free for other methods (I have PosteMobile, so I used that mobile number to open an SPID online). In addition to Poste Italiane, there are other companies that can open SPIDs.

Spid a pagamento, da novembre bisognerà pagare anche per accedere alle proprie aree riservate di account come quello delle Poste.

Below is my opinion.
For me, who loves Poste Italiane, this seems correct. It is by no means an advocate for Poste Italiane, and not all people should work for free.
I work as a translator, but even if I’m a friend and I’m told to “translate this sentence for free”, I don’t (basically) respond for free. I think it’s natural to pay for the people who work, and I want them to be.
Labor is not a charity, so no one should work for free. To live in a capitalist society like Japan or Italy, you need money. The only way to get money, the means to live, is to work.
