Hello. My name is Honoka. I really like Poste Italiane, a corporation involved in the Italian postal service.
Today I have an article about “Starbucks Reserve Roastery Milano” in Milan.
Starbucks has only a few stores in Italy. Coffee served in a typical Italian cafe is reasonably priced at around € 1. On the other hand, the coffee offered by Starbucks is expensive. For this reason, I decided that Starbucks would not be successful in Italy.
Starbucks seems to have long wanted to open a store in Italy. That’s because Italy is the country where Starbucks coffee is most loved by its citizens.
Starbucks was a huge success, contrary to what I expected, partly because the Italians had a good impression of the United States.
The place where Starbucks is now is the place used by Poste Italiane, an Italian postal service company. Therefore, its history is engraved on the outside or inside of the Starbucks building.
In my opinion, Poste Italiane has been at the heart of Italian culture and history for over 150 years. In the days when there was no internet, the postal service provided by Poste Italiane was all about communication, and the only thread that connected soldiers and their families who went to war was mail.
It’s sad to renovate a building that is of great cultural and historical value. It may be unavoidable because customer needs and lifestyles change with the passage of time. But I’m faintly hoping that the Poste Italiane office will return to that location.
